Celeste reported on the “Sanctifying grace” from the Book “ My Catholic Faith” by Most Reverend Louis LaRavoire Morrow, S.T.D.

Celeste explains that grace is a supernatural gift from God bestowed on us through the merits of Jesus Christ for our salvation. It is also a favor, free gift granted to us through we have no claim to it. God grant to us grace because He is good, not because we deserve it. The Holy Ghost dispenses the graces of God Merits by Our Lord Jesus Christ. Supernatural in two kinds: Beyond the natural powers in the manner of accurance, and when the fact fundamentally and entirely surpasses all powers of the natural order. A sanctifying grace is that grace which confers of our souls a new life, that is, a sharing in the life of God Himself.

Shiela Mae asked if what is the difference of grace and sanctifying grace is.

Celeste answered that the grace comes in 2 kinds: actual and sanctifying grace. Grace is a more general word and sanctifying grace is a more specified grace.

John Mard asked if what is the reason behind of calling sanctifying grace a sanctifying grace.
